I am filled with immense pride and honor as I reflect and write about one of our first titleholders, Kira Gardner, who next week will take the national stage as Miss Utah’s Teen and compete for Miss America’s Teen. Reflecting on on our inaugural year of Miss GSL Teen, Kira’s journey stands as a shining example of everything we hope to inspire in the young women who become a part of our program.
In 2023, Kira became Miss Timpanogos’ Teen, and from the very beginning, she exemplified the qualities that define a true leader: community-mindedness, a servant’s heart, scholastic determination, sisterhood, compassion, and purpose. Kira has worked diligently in every aspect of her life and competition, demonstrating an authenticity and sincerity that are nothing short of inspiring. Her ability to connect with people—whether through her warm smile, her heartfelt service, or her unwavering sense of purpose—sets her apart as a role model for all of us.
Kira’s accomplishments reflect her commitment to excellence and service. From developing partnerships with organizations like Compassion Mobility and Walk 4 Hope to completing over 1,000 hours of community service, her dedication to making a difference is undeniable. As Mayor of the Lehi City Youth Council and a spokesperson at the 2024 Congressional Convention in Washington, D.C., Kira has shown leadership beyond her years. Her academic achievements, including a 4.0 GPA and her goal of earning a degree in archaeology from BYU, underscore her scholastic drive.
Beyond her academic and community achievements, Kira’s talent and passion shine brightly. Her commitment to the arts through her Community Service Initiative, H.O.P.E. Through the Arts, demonstrates her belief in the transformative power of creativity; exemplified in the numerous community activities that Kira has organized and engaged broad age ranges.
Kira has always been the pillar example of hardwork, compassion, and purpose. I could not have asked for a better first year of Miss GSL Teen. Kira set the standard for what I hope all young women emulate.
